Gill makes all of her training sessions an enjoyable experience...she is organized, efficient and methodical and displays a professional manner at all times. She is able to adapt her training technique to the level of understanding that each different participant may require. Gill is able to combine the knowledge of more experienced learners together with the training programme to give the inexperienced participant a broader range of understanding. She is able to put the audience at ease, breaking down any barriers so that new or more experienced employees to the care sector are able to ask questions on the topic without feeling embarrassed.

Quantum Group becomes a Dignity Champion

altThe Quantum Group has recently joined the Department of Health's 'Dignity Campaign' , in support of the drive for improvement in the quality of care, and reducing disrespect and abuse, wherever care is given.

As a leading health and social care training organisation whose trainers, assessors and tutors have extensive hands-on experience of actually delivering care, we at Quantum Group have always felt the importance of respect for the individual, be they a care home resident, someone continuing to live at home or indeed an inpatient. And we have always stressed the importance of this - that the resident or care receiver is a person and a human being first and foremost - in all our training courses, especially our flagship preparation course packages, Mandatory Units Training and Induction to Skills for Care Training; we feel it is vital to embed this key attitude towards care receivers right at the start of anyone's training besides any 'refresher' training later on in a carer's career.

We have recently reviewed our core courses to ensure that the concept and practice of dignity for care receivers is emphasised, and we will shortly be holding seminars for all Quantum Group staff to discuss and debate this issue. These seminars will, among other initiatives, inform the development of a new Dignity in Care training course, which we hope to launch in Spring 2010.
