Sara is the tutor allocated to our home for all areas of our statutory training and any other agreed by our company, Halcyon Care. [Sara] is always early and has set up everything she needs for the training session, before the staff arrive. [Sara] has shown she has a good knowledge of every subject she covers and encourages those attending to ask questions and/or give their experiences. She acts professionally at all times and does not mind if something has to be explained in a different way for our staff to understand the point being made...Her experience of working with the elderly in the past helps her relate to our situation of working in a care home that caters for diverse situations/illness/capabilities etc of residents.

New Dementia Training Course
Responding to growing requests from Quantum Group's clients, Roy Riseborough, a Director of Quantum Group with extensive expertise in care home management, has developed a new Dementia Training course. The launch of this new course coincides with increasing media attention being given to the critical issue of how rising numbers of people with dementia and alzheimer's disease will be cared for, both in the care sector and by their families.
Besides the often demanding practical issues surrounding caring for people with dementia, further knowledge will be needed by carers of appropriate medication and other interventions which can increase function and thus quality of life.
