| Brief Description: | Including theory and practical sessions, this course has been developed to help learners manage difficult situations at work or in public, involving conflict resolution through to dealing with potentially and actually violent confrontations. The course will utilise the “ Low Arousal “ theory of resolving challenging Behaviour developed by Studio III. This programme seeks to be able to predict behaviour that challenges and use a risk based assessment and plan of care as a means of resolving the behaviour. The course is based on non–physical intervention which utilises the A.B.C. concept of behaviour analysis. | ||
| Learning Outcomes: | Learners will be able to use techniques for personal protection and 'break away' and understand techniques for managing aggressive behaviour (psychology, communication, resraint etc). | ||
| Suitable for: | Staff working in elderly care situation and with those with medium level learning difficulties. | ||
