This web page has been designed following a survey of what we are most often asked. Scroll through the questions below; if what you want to know isn't covered, please contact Karen Brewin on 01332 332 727.
How do I get to your offices?
For complete instructions on how to reach us using different means of transport, click here. |
How do I pay for my NVQ?
All the prices quoted on this website and in our publications are the basic price we charge. However there are several ways in which this charge can be reduced. Firstly, we are flexible on prices when the learner is based in an organisation with which we are already doing business, either qualifications or training courses: the more business you give us the more willing we are to discuss discounts. We consider each case individually, so please contact Karen Brewin, our Sales Manager, on 01332 332727 to discuss the price for your chosen qualification. Secondly, we are able to access a number of sources of funding which could substantially reduce the financial contribution of the learner or their sponsor (such as their employer); in some cases meaning they pay nothing! Again. please contact Karen Brewin on 01332 332727 to find out how much you could save by learning with us; have to hand the full name of the course or qualification and product code (if available). Whatever the final amount to be paid by or on behalf of the student, this must be settled in full before starting the qualification i.e. before you can be signed up, when meeting your Quantum Group assessor or tutor for the first time. |
Who does what at Quantum?
Quantum Group staff either work in the 'Corporate Team', based at our Derby offices, or are in one of our operational teams for Training, Qualifications or Management Services, working both in Derby and at client sites throughout the country. To meet members of our operational teams, click here. |
I am confused: what is the difference between a training course and a qualification?
Since we run a wide variety of training courses and help our students achieve many different qualifications, we divide our business into these two areas, among others. For a summary of both types of product explaining the differences, click here. |
Where can I find out your courses and qualifications prices?
For training course prices, click here. For prices of NVQ qualifications, click here (we also offer Skills for Life Certificates but these are usually free to the learner as they are government funded). |
How do I access funding for my qualification? How does funding work?
There are several ways in which the cost of the individual learner's training course(s) or qualification programme can be met. From the point of view of the learner themselves, it depends on whether they will be self-funding, have their training costs met wholly or partially by their employer, or by a funding body (such as the Learning and Skills Council), or a combination of these. Since it all depends on individual circumstances and the rapidly changing funding environment, we suggest that you contact a member of our team for information, advice and guidance; since our business is improving people's skills and knowledge, it's also our business to know everything about how to support that goal, including funding. Get in touch by either sending us an e-mail or calling Karen Brewin on 01332 332727. |
How do I book my staff on to a training course?
Training course bookings are managed by Stephanie Collins, who can be contacted on 01332 332727 or by email. The amount of notice we need depends on what type of course we are delivering for you. Please also note that we must normally receive payment before any courses are run or your delegates are admitted to any shared courses. |
What do I need to do my qualification coursework online (over the internet)?
We encourage our learners to complete their qualification electronically wherever possible, and to support this we subscribe to the OneFile service. This simple, easy-to-use website allows learners to submit coursework and communicate with their assessor or tutor via the internet. All you need is access to a computer with an internet connection; the OneFile fee for you is paid by Quantum Group. We may be able to advise you on getting online, which could help you with many things apart from getting your qualification with us – please contact us for more information on 01332 332727 or send us an email. |
Where can I park when coming to visit the Quantum Group?
Unfortunately our central Derby location means that car parking is very limited at our Derby offices. However there is ample parking very nearby; click here for more information, and go to the sections for 'Parking near our premises'. |
Can Quantum Group give me Information, Advice and Guidance about my career and development?
A number of our staff are able to offer our existing and prospective learners and clients information, advice and guidance. However given that you might want to know about any number of things, it's best if you contact our Sales Team first on 01332 332727, who will try to help you and possibly direct your query to the most appropriate member of our team. |
What areas do you cover?
The Quantum Group is a nationwide company, and we regularly deliver training in most regions of England. However given that we need a geographical base (in Derby, east Midlands) the location of a client or learner may affect the price of their training or qualifications. In any case we will be very happy to discuss your requirements - please contact Karen Brewin on 01332 332727. |
Do you charge mileage?
For clients and learners located further away from Derby, it is sometimes necessary for us to add a 'mileage' charge to the price of their training or qualifications. This is to reflect the cost of travel including fuel and sometimes accommodation, as well as time spent travelling, particularly if the number of learners per visit is low. In order to get a firm indication of any such additional costs you should contact Karen Brewin in our Sales Team on 01132 332727. |
What is the training timetable or schedule for Quantum's Derby Training Centre?

The schedule of weekly sessions (the 'Mandatory Timetable') is as follows:

Quantum have sent knowledgeable reliable trainers who provide first class training. The result of our association with this excellent company is that staff have become knowledgeable, effective and keen to attend training as the delivery is comprehensive, using formats suitable for each individual learner’s requirements and ability. Quantum also offer ‘working examples’ of training outcomes which indicate the practical application rather than training remaining an academic exercise quickly forgotten.
